The Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) is the flagship program introduced to Central America by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). FETP graduates, also known as “Disease Detectives”, strengthen the capacity of the public health workforce to investigate and respond to disease outbreaks.
CDC works with the Guatemala Ministry of Health to help strengthen the national FETP and provides technical assistance and training as needed.
