Around the world, nearly one in three women have experienced physical or sexual violence, mostly by intimate partners. As countries have implemented stay-at-home orders and other measures to prevent transmission of COVID-19, reports from women experiencing violence at home have increased. At the same time, services for survivors have been disrupted. WHO calls on all countries to include health care for women affected by violence as an essential service that must be maintained and made accessible during the pandemic, including additional resources for women with disabilities.

Thank you, Dr. Tedros for bringing up this day to shine a light into darker human behaviors against women. These behaviors must be checked. The first step to changing any behavior is shining a light and giving attention to it. Then we must quickly shift to the behavior patterns we want to see in our world with expectation the change will occur. Many women have ‘invisible’ disabilities and may ask for help while not appearing to need that assistance. Yet, it is wiser to be generous in our kindness, and help them anyway, especially when asked to do so. Namaste.

My cousin sister was forcefully married at the age of 19 by her father … But her husband used to always beat her for no reason… He used go with other girls in Mumbai hotels.. & my sis was staying in Sasural for him to come back… Now they have divorced! My sis is now preparing for doing business.
My mother’s sister(masi) became victim of love-jihad … One man changed his name & trapped my Masi & told her to leave her home & run with him… When she went to his house he was of islamic religion… He was already married to 2 other women… She had only to option either death or change religion & spend rest of her life with that hell
She chose 2nd option😭😞
My father’s sister was victim of child marriage… She was married with 37 year old man when she was just 13!! Now she is living her widowhood
My uncle-aunt don’t have child… He always blames her & beats her.. Locks her in room… But in reality he don’t produce enough sperm (oligospermia)
All this incidents have taught me…
